Lighting Paperwork System is a set of software products focused on streamlining
the paperwork and information used when designing and implementing entertainment
lighting. LPS uses an innovative display system that significantly speeds
up the creation of lighting paperwork and using the paperwork information
during hang, focus, and tech rehearsals. LPS uses a base set of ten
industry standard paperwork layouts, and the user can define any number
of more specialized layouts. Users can view the paperwork in multiple
layouts simultaneously. Included with LPS is a library of fixtures,
colors, templates and lighting supply companies at the users fingertips,
inside one application.
If your venue has a repertory schedule or a house hang, LPS is a powerful
tool. One of the core concepts to LPS is the idea of "light plots"
and "shows". One light plot can be used for multiple shows,
so why have multiple files? Contained within an LPS file users can have
as many shows using the same set of fixtures with different colors,
focus, or patch. Any aspect of the fixture can be changed from show
to show, except hanging position. LPS can be used to create show changes
reports highlighting the differences between two different focuses.
If one show uses a particular fixture and the next doesn't LPS can account
for that too.
Along with displaying a fixtures channel, circuit, dimmer, position,
unit number, unit type, wattage, purpose, color(s), template(s), focus
status, and notes, users can define an unlimited set of custom fields.
Perhaps in your venue you need to keep track of what fixture has a certain
connector, or where it was rented/borrowed from.
The main set of LPS software is available for Mac OS X 10.2 or later; Windows
XP, 2000, NT, 98 or later; and Linux.
LPS pro is a single user professional license of the base software.
As with all of the LPS products, Pro updates its library files automatically,
or when selected, over the Internet. This ensures that the users have
the latest information available to them. LPS products also are automatically
updated with bug fixes or program enhancements, as they are made available.
For companies or institutions that may require a site license we offer
LPS Network. LPS Network is sold with licenses for four computers. As
an added feature, Network users will be able to work on the same file
simultaneously over a network. Now an assistant can be modifying color
information while the electrician is updating circuits. The entire file
will be saved in one place with the latest info. If more than four licenses
are needed, additional single user licenses may be added at time of
purchase.
LPS Student is functionally identical to LPS Pro, at a drastically reduced
price. For little more than the cost of a textbook, lighting students
can use this professional tool. LPS Student places a notice on the header
of printed paperwork that it was generated with a student license. LPS
Student may be upgraded to minor version upgrades, such as 1.X, but
not to major version releases, such as 2.X.
