Air Input Kit

The Air Input Kit simplifies the introduction of compressed air to the PF-1000 Remote Head Fogger. Compressed air is used most often to clean the machines or to add specialized effects.

The Air Input Kit consists of a quick disconnect fitting that attaches to the Heater Module of the PF 1000. One end of a 15 ft. (4.6 m) tube then attaches to the quick disconnect, and the other end attaches to a small housing with a solenoid valve and regulator that accepts compressed air. A control wire is attached from the solenoid to the Heater Module. The Solenoid can be controlled from either the Control Module or can be wired so that it can be enabled from a remote location. (See PF-1000 Operations Manual).

To extend the life of the Heater Module, especially in permanent installations, the Air Input Kit should be attached to the machine and air run through the unit as required. Note: the less often the machine makes fog (i.e., one minute out of every 10), the more often air should be used to clean any material left in the Heater Module.

In addition, the Air Input Kit gives the ability to add additional speed to the fog output. There are two ways to use air for effects either with or without using the fluid pump.

Under normal machine operating conditions, increasing the "fog volume" control increases the velocity of the machine's output. In some instances this may not be the desired effect.

When a compressed air supply is introduced to the "fog output" it acts as a supply carrier to the fog effect. Setting the "fog volume" in conjunction with a regulated air supply will increase the speed and direction, giving a more instantaneous and smoother effect.

When the desired effect is that of a "cannon firing" or a "chimney puffing", more sophisticated control systems may be needed but these are possible to achieve manually. It is important to note that computerized control will produce the same effect each time, manual operation may vary depending on the operator. To achieve such effects the heat exchanger is primed with fluid, the compressed air is then triggered causing an output independent of the pump. This is a sharp and exact method of producing a precise "cued" burst of fog. The duration of the effect is dictated by the amount of fluid introduced into the heat exchanger and the length of the compressed air burst.
