Most RoscoShades studio installations use one or two levels of neutral density filter. Here, both ND.6 and ND.9, which reduce light intensity 2 and 3 stops respectively, are used.

The windows in a TV studio are often filtered with Rosco's Sun 85 to bring the daylight (usually 5500°) to the color temperature of the tungsten fixtures in the studio (usually 3200°).

The window filters in the RoscoShade system can be raised and lowered manually. But many users prefer to add an electronic control to the system. This allows the material to be affixed in place in just a few seconds.
